Five central departments have jointly released guidelines to regulate the job market for part-timers and those in short-term work, in order to expand opportunities and promote the development of the gig economy. The five departments, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, stated that odd jobs are an important way of increase the incomes of more elderly or disabled job seekers, as well as those having difficulties finding work because they lack skills.
