China Energy Engineering Corp Ltd (Energy China) has enjoyed another fruitful outing at the fourth China International Import Expo in Shanghai, having signed a record $639 million worth of deals for gas turbines, generators, wind power generators and transport services.
The equipment and services procured would be used in the company”s overseas projects.
According to Song Hailiang, chairman of Energy China, this is the biggest outlay the company has made in all editions of the CIIE, and it represents a stark increase from the $67 million it spent in the first edition of the expo in 2018.
Energy China had previously signed $829 million worth of deals in the previous three editions of the CIIE.
The many different trade and aid policies being pursued by China globally have been heavily criticised but can developing countries become more independent or will China’s policy reform?
